International Women’s Day
Tuesday, March 8, is International Women’s Day. According to InternationalWomensDay.com, “following the decision agreed at Copenhagen in 1911, International Women's Day (IWD) was honored the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.” In 1917, a march in St. Petersburg, Russia on International Women’s Day proved to be the spark that started the Russian Revolution.
