From the Founder & CEO
Dear Meridian Families,
I am writing today to ask for your financial support as we try to reach our goal of $350,000 for the annual campaign. With more than $100,000 left to raise, we’re asking for your help with a donation to Meridian today.
Why funding matters …
Meridian receives almost all of our funding from the State of Texas. As many of you know, state funding hasn’t been adequate for years and unlike our neighbors in Round Rock, Georgetown, and Leander ISDs, we are not able to supplement state funding with local tax dollars. Charter schools like Meridian receive about $1,600 less per student than traditional school districts do. For us, that is a gap of almost $3,000,000!
We must turn to fundraising, asking families to help us close that gap by donating $300 per student to the annual campaign. We understand that $300 may not be the right gift for your family, so we ask that you give what is meaningful. For some that may be a smaller amount, for others larger. Either way, your participation demonstrates your commitment to Meridian’s mission and shows that we, as a community, value the exceptional education our students receive here.
If you’ve already made a donation, thank you. If able to do so, please consider making an additional contribution to become a Lion Leader or Luminary ($1,000 to $3,000+).
Your contribution provides resources directly impacting our students’ experiences, in technology, teacher retention and hiring, and hands-on learning opportunities.
I sincerely ask that you please contribute to the Annual Fund to ensure that Meridian remains this special place where your student will grow into a responsible citizen who can artfully navigate our complex world and enjoy a good life with others!
Thank you all so much,
Karalei Nunn
