Attending Home Games

home gym

At Meridian, we host our own home Volleyball and Basketball games in the Mays (Middle School) gym.

Game Schedule:

Students who wish to attend home games must be supervised until game time.

  • Students must be picked up at dismissal and returned to campus for the game time, or
  • Students must attend After School 6-12 until game time. (After School 6-12 requires registration. Learn more.)

Written parent/guardian permission is required.

Those attending After School 6-12 who wish to be dismissed from the program to attend home games will need their parent/guardian to email Mrs. Powers granting permission for her to release them from After School 6-12 for home games. This permission is valid for the whole school year (Volleyball and Basketball seasons) unless otherwise specified by the parent. Verbal permission is not acceptable.

Students are expected to stay in the gym during home games

Students are not permitted to wander around campus. When bathroom breaks are necessary, students should behave as they do during the school day remembering that there are cameras throughout the building, including outside the bathrooms.

Students will need to bring cash to pay for admissions to home games.

Home Game Admissions: $3 students or $1 if wearing Meridian spirit wear; $5 adults; staff admitted for free with their Meridian badge.

Concessions will sometimes be available.

Concessions are usually about $1 each. Admissions and concessions are cash only.

Behavioral expectations:

  • Students are encouraged to show their school spirit; however, all comments and signage must remain positive to all teams, officials, and fans.
  • Students must not interfere with the competitions.
    • Stay off the court and keep an appropriate distance from the regulation boundaries.
    • Do not use flash on cameras.
    • No noisemakers.
    • No playing with balls during games.
  • Students are expected to help care for their home gym. If they make a mess, they must clean it up.
  • Anyone  who notices a problem should report it to the Game Day Manager. If unsure who the Game Day Manager is, please inquire at the Admissions table.

Attending home games without a parent/guardian in attendance is a privilege, which can be revoked if these expectations and/or the student handbook are not followed.
