Overview

For the 2025-2026 season, Meridian Athletics hopes there is enough interest by qualified, committed dancers to form the Fierce Dance Team, which will be open to rising 7th-12th grade students. Due to low interest in the Spring Dance Clinic, which was subsequently cancelled, there is a possibility that Fierce Dance Team will not form for 2025-2026.

Monday, March 31 - Registration opens for the 2025-2026 season.

Thursday, April 10 at 9:00 p.m. - Registration ends for the 2025-2026 season.

Monday May 5, 4:20 - 5:50 p.m. - Mandatory Pre-Tryout Practice - Learn compulsory routine.

Tuesday, May 6, 4:20 - 5:50 p.m. - Mandatory Pre-Tryout Practice - Practice compulsory routine.

Wednesday, May 7, 4:20 - 5:50 p.m. - Mandatory Pre-Tryout Practice - Practice compulsory routine.

Competitions & Performances

The Fierce Dance Team will compete in four categories in three competitions at the JV level. The competition season is late January through March. As soon as the competitions are open for registration, they will be booked and the Dance Team’s competition schedule will be updated.

Coach

The 2025-2026 Coach will be announced soon.

Coach Harvey will assist with the Mandatory Pre-Tryout Practices and Tryouts. 

 

Registration

Registration ended at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. No late registrations will be accepted for students who are enrolled in Meridian School during the registration period.

 

Minimum Participants

Minimums needed for teams to form:

• Dance Team - A minimum of 15 qualified, committed dancers is required to register for the 2025-2026 Dance Team. If only 14 students register, the season will be canceled. 
• Dance Officers - Five qualified, committed dancers are needed to register to try out for Dance Officers in order for the Dance Officers team to form. (Dance Officers are also members of the Dance Team, and will be a subset of the minimum of the 15 participants needed for the Dance Team to form.) If the Fierce Dance Team does not form, there will not be Dance Officers. Dance Team officer candidates are rising 9th-12th grade dancers who participated on the Fierce Dance Team for at least one academic year. If the qualified minimum dancers try out for Officers, three officers will be chosen for the 2025-2026 academic year.

 

Lettering & Letter Jackets

Lettering in an extracurricular activity is reserved for the highest level of participation. For Dance Team, this means Dance Officers, who train and compete at the Varsity level.
