General Guidelines

  • Meridian serves students in Kindergarten through 12th grade

  • Meridian is an open-enrollment public charter school with no academic admissions requirements and no tuition required.

  • Students must live in Williamson County to enroll.

 

Admissions Timeline

  • The application period for the lottery is open between January 1 through February 28 for the following school year.

  • Preview evenings are held in January and February so that you can see the school in person and learn more about our programs.

  • A blind lottery takes place in March and families are notified of the results.

  • Applications do not roll over from year to year.

  • If your child does not get a spot in one year, then a new application is needed for the following school year. 

 

I missed the application period for the lottery. Can I still apply?

  • After the lottery ends, applications are added to the end of each grade's waitlist in the order they're received.

  • All grades will have waitlists.

  • Applications do NOT roll over from one year to the next.

 

Are all grades enrolling new students?

  • Generally, applications for new students are accepted for Kindergarten through 9th grade. Due to the rigor of the International Baccalaureate program in high school, the Meridian Board of Directors has determined to limit the enrollment of grades 10-12 to students who attended the prior year.

  • While openings are filled as soon as possible throughout the school year for Kindergarten through 6th grade, because of the higher level of coursework for older students, enrollment of new students in grades 7 or higher typically closes for the year after fall break.

  • If a grade is over-subscribed and a lottery occurs, names will continue to be drawn after the class is full to create a waiting list.

  • Applications made after the deadline will be processed on a first come/first serve basis.

  • To get a waitlist status update for your child, you can log into your admissions portal once the lottery has occurred in March. If you're having trouble finding it, you may email [email protected].  Please use "wait list status" as the email subject and include your child's name and grade level in the body of the email.
