Laurie Selchert

Laurie Selchert joined the Meridian faculty in August 2018. She has taught both Special Education (as both a Resource and inclusion teacher) and fifth grade for us. Laurie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in 4th-8th grade Social Studies from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. She is also a certified kindergarten through twelfth grade Special Education teacher. Previously Laurie taught in Killeen and Round Rock, Texas, and Tampa, Florida as a Middle School Social Studies teacher. Ms. Selchert also has two children attending Meridian. She is a huge proponent of the IB philosophy to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
