Kim Salazar
Kim Salazar joined Meridian in August of 2019 as the primary dedicated substitute. Kim quickly moved into the role of a 3rd grade classroom teacher. She grew up in a small community in east Texas, graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, and became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Kim then obtained her teaching certificate and began teaching high school special education. After three years of teaching and the birth of her first child, Kim became a stay-at-home mom. She and her husband grew their family and now have three children who attend Meridian. After raising her own children for ten years, she decided it was time to rejoin education. Kim is certified in special education, physical education, and early childhood through sixth grade. Kim continued her education by earning a Master’s degree in Educational Administration with a Principal Certification. After teaching 3rd grade for five years at Meridian, she is excited to continue her journey in 2024 as an MYP Assistant Principal and support the school and community in new capacity.
