Laura Toczko

Laura Toczko joined the Meridian faculty in 2020 as a kindergarten teacher. In 2023, she moved with her class to first grade. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and then furthered her education by earning a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from University of Central Oklahoma. Mrs. Toczko is certified to teach Pre-K through sixth grade and ESL.

 

Although born and raised in Phoenix, she has taught kindergarten, first, and second grades in Oklahoma and Texas. She really enjoys teaching phonics and reading through chants and movement as well as instilling lifelong social skills in her students. Mrs. Toczko is passionate about her faith, her family, and building relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

 

She and her husband, Darren, have a daughter, Paxton, who is a cosmetologist and a son, Benton, who will graduate from Meridian in 2025. Laura was drawn to Meridian because it closely aligns with her philosophy of education to teach the whole child.
