Sal Stow

Sal Stow joined Meridian in January of 2020 as the PYP Music teacher. Sal is originally from Yorkshire, United Kingdom! She moved to Houston, Texas in August 2011. Sal has a Bachelor's Honors degree with a major in Music and minor in Sport from the University of Leicester, UK, followed with a postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Leeds, UK. She has taught music for 26 years, of which the first 14 years were teaching in secondary schools in the UK. After moving to Houston, she began teaching music in IB schools. The school she taught prior to Meridian was an IB magnet school for Gifted and Talented students. Sal has completed training as a Gifted and Talented teacher. She is also a Texas certified teacher in Music K-12. Sal has completed IB training including category 3 training in Music and Action in the PYP. Sal is also an IB Workshop Facilitator. Sal loves the scope that the IB encompasses and this enables her to create relevant and transdisciplinary learning in Music. She has served as a mentor to students for the 5th Grade Exhibition at Meridian and her previous school.
