Taylor Schwartz
Taylor Schwartz has been teaching at Meridian since August of 2021, where they began apprentice teaching Mrs. Rothenberger's Geometry class through UT Austin's UTeach program, one of the nation's largest teacher preparation programs.
They grew up in Houston, Texas, where they came to love all things STEM, and moved to Austin in September of 2016 to attend the University of Texas at Austin. They graduated with a Bachelor's of Science and Arts in Mathematics and Chemistry in December of 2021. Mx. Schwartz became a teacher of record in the 2022-2023 school year, where they began teaching Geometry and Algebra II. After taking classes with UTeach over project-based instruction, research methods, and classroom equity, Mx. Schwartz is prepared to lead MYP students through interesting and complex math that is applicable to the real world.
In their personal life, Taylor enjoys learning new things as often as possible. They spend their time crafting in various ways - including knitting, crocheting, sewing, and journaling - and listening to podcasts. They are also an ardent lover of Dungeons and Dragons, having been the president of their DnD club at UT Austin for two years. They are excited to get to work with a variety of students and help them grow into thoughtful and curious young adults.
