Marcy Morgan
Marcy Morgan is excited joined the Meridian staff in 2022 as a special education teacher. Originally from Austin, she graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Art. As she was pursuing her passion for art, her creative path took her in the direction of special education, completing an alternative teaching program and certification in special education. After teaching resource and early childhood special education for several years, she ventured into a traditional classroom setting, obtaining certification in both regular education and English as a second language, then taught prekindergarten for a few years. During her summers, she was traveling the world, another passion of hers. One of these summers, she taught English in Afghanistan. She spent almost two years in France, where she worked for several months on a quality and inclusive education project in UNESCO’s education department, then taught English at three different public school campuses. When an opportunity opened, she once again packed up and moved to Morocco, devoting two years to teaching third grade there and helping align the curriculum across grade levels at an American school. Once she returned to the States, she taught first and second grade for a few years, returning to teaching special education early childhood several years ago. She enjoys traveling, creating, spending time with family and friends and a good cup of coffee.
