Corey Franklin
Corey Franklin joined Meridian in August 2022 as a third-grade teacher, bringing with him a suitcase full of experiences and a cat named Chairman Miao. Mr. Franklin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from The University of the Incarnate Word and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Regents University / Webster University in London. He’s a globe-trotter, having visited over thirty countries, but he promises to keep his travel stories to a minimum—unless they involve teaching moments or his cat’s antics.
After spending seven years in China, teaching English, music, and serving as a PYP Coordinator, Mr. Franklin moved back to the U.S. in July 2022. He’s taught students of all ages but has a special fondness for primary students. With extensive experience in the International Baccalaureate program, he successfully led a new school through the IB PYP authorization in 2022.
Mr. Franklin is a certified teacher in Texas and Washington DC and holds Qualified Teacher Status in the United Kingdom. He enjoys music, reading, and learning new languages—he speaks Chinese and is learning Spanish. Drawn to Meridian because of its IB World School philosophy, Mr. Franklin is excited to be part of this vibrant community. He’s always ready to share a laugh and maybe even a song or two (just don’t ask him to sing in Chinese yet).
