Nieves Owens

Nieves Owens was born and raised in Rockdale, Texas.  She attended The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Literature with a minor in Writing and Education in 2007.
 
Nieves has an adult son, James Andrew Woodward, who is a person with autism special needs and lives with her full-time. Nieves and James Andrew also have two dogs, a Yorkshire Terrier named Trixie and a Dachshund named Peanut.  
 
Prior to joining Meridian in 2024, Ms. Owens taught at Holland High School for six years and Magnolia West High School for 10 years, where she taught IB Literature HL DP courses.
 
Ms. Owens is excited to begin her journey in a charter school and the MYP program. As a native of Central Texas, Nieves is happy to return to the area and explore the next chapter in her teaching career.
