Rachna Gandhi

Rachna is an experienced computer science educator with over two decades of experience teaching and educational technology integration. Recently relocating to Austin, Texas from Hyderabad, India, Rachna brings a wealth of knowledge in computer science, a rich background in IB pedagogy and leadership, and extensive experience with MYP Design.
 
Rachna holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People. She also has a Diploma in Advanced Computing from CDAC-Pune and a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Committed to continuous learning, Rachna is an IB Examiner for Digital Society and has completed various IB workshops in Computer Science, CAS, TOK, and Academic Integrity. She is also a curriculum developer with the IB and is currently working on the 16+ changes in the DP.
 
Throughout her distinguished career, Rachna has demonstrated her commitment to integrating technology into education, fostering a growth mindset among students, and leading educational institutions towards innovative and effective teaching practices. Her expertise in computer science, combined with her deep understanding of IB curriculum and standards, has enabled her to create engaging and impactful learning environments.
 
At her previous schools, Rachna held various leadership roles, including Head of Department/Technology Coordinator-IT, Technology Facilitator, CAS Coordinator, and CIS Coordinator. She was instrumental in developing and implementing strategic visions for technology use in education and leading the school to achieve CIS accreditation. She led initiatives such as the 1-to-1 computing program, the integration of Google for Education, and the implementation of MYP Design curriculum. Her leadership was key to the school achieving Google Reference School status.
 
Rachna's educational philosophy centers on empowering students and educators to explore, experiment, and innovate. Now in Austin, Rachna is excited to bring her extensive experience and passion for education to new opportunities, continuing to inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for the digital age.
 
Outside of her professional life, Rachna is a devoted mother to her daughter, who will soon graduate from high school, and her 8-year-old son. She loves to travel, meet new people, and explore diverse cultures, reflecting her belief in the importance of global awareness and diversity in education.
