Nirupama Ghosh

Mrs. Ghosh joined the IB chemistry faculty in 2024. She brings a rich academic background and teaching experience to our school community. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with Physics and Chemistry as additional subjects. She furthered her education by earning a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from Burdwan University in West Bengal, India, where she achieved distinction by ranking second in her department.

With over seven years of experience as a high school mathematics teacher in the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in India, she has developed a deep understanding of educational methodologies and student engagement. After relocating to the United States, she took a purposeful career break to focus on her family, during which time she continued to expand her expertise by earning a Post Graduate Program certificate in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Texas at Austin in 2022.

Her teaching philosophy centers on building strong conceptual foundations. She believes that when students truly understand the 'why' behind the concepts, they develop stronger problem-solving skills and greater confidence in their abilities. Through interactive lessons and real-world applications, she helps students move beyond mere memorization to achieve deeper comprehension and mastery of the concepts. She strives to create an engaging classroom environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are viewed as valuable learning opportunities.

When not teaching, she enriches her creative spirit through gardening, arts and crafts, and cooking for her family – hobbies that complement her holistic approach to education.
