Lacy Vain
Mrs. Vain teaches Visual Arts. She draws from her experiences as a practicing artist and arts administrator to foster appreciation and enthusiasm for artistic expression. She enjoys teaching technical artmaking skills and visual literacy needed for art analysis. She is certified to teach K-12 Visual Art and 6-12 French. She has participated in Category 2 MYP training for Arts and Language Acquisition, as well as Category 2 IB DP Visual Arts training. She has taught Art (grades 8-12) and French (grades 5-7). She has a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, including time spent studying art and art history in Aix-en-Provence, France. She has also lived, worked, and traveled extensively in France. Before working at Meridian, Mrs. Vain and her family lived in a small village in the South of France, north of Marseille, where she taught English. Before that, she worked as an arts administrator for The Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University for 12 years. She is a member of Meridian's Circle of Founding Families (COFF). She lives in Georgetown with her husband and two children. Both of her children are Meridian Lions, Class of 2021 and Class of 2024. In her free time, she enjoys painting, cooking, traveling, being outdoors, visiting museums and spending time with friends and family.
