Shannon Baker

Shannon Baker joined Meridian in August 2016 as a second grade teacher. Shannon has a Bachelor's degree in Education from Texas A&M. She is certified in early childhood through the eighth grade. After living and working as a substitute in the Tyler area, Shannon took time to travel extensively to gain a different type of education. She spent six months traveling across Europe and the Middle East, visiting 26 countries and two U.S. territories before traveling to 25 states in the U.S. (and Washington D.C.). She then felt ready to go into the classroom permanently and moved to Austin  – beginning work as a substitute at Meridian. She quickly became known to the staff as a strong educator and accepted a position permanently the next school year. Shannon has completed Category 1 IB-PYP training.
