Dottie Elliott
Dottie Elliott joined Meridian World School in August 2017 as a Special Education inclusion teacher for 6th grade. In 2019-2020, she moved to teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Mathematics to our Special Education students in Middle School and providing inclusion support in various grades. Dottie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from NCSU and a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Western Governors University. She is certified in Special Education K-12, as well as general education K-8 and has an English Language Learners certificate. Dottie will complete her Master’s in Curriculum Design and Technology in the August of 2021. Dottie began working in education in 2008. Upon joining Meridian, she attended IB training in the summer of 2017. Prior to entering the education field, Dottie worked as a Computer Programmer and Web Designer and ran a Web Design Business. After raising a child with special education needs, she decided to change careers and worked as a paraprofessional while earning her teaching degree and certifications. She has a daughter, who works as a Registered Behavior Technician and is pursuing her Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Dottie’s son is also a certified History Teacher and is completing his Doctorate in History. Dottie and her husband enjoy camping, playing with their dogs, gardening, and watching movies. She is honored to be part of Meridian’s unique educational experience!
